Bodegas Naia set-up in La Seca, a region that is considered grand cru in Rueda, in 2002, with the idea of making great white wines. Since then, the cornerstone of its work has been a selection of old vines of the autochthonous Verdejo. They are untrained vines, and some are pre-philloxeric. The vineyard is owned by Bodegas Naia and is 21.4 hectares in size and includes some strains that are more than a century old. From this raw material, the winery has been creating white wines that, over the years, have delighted many and have obtained top recognition and prizes. This success can be attributed to Eulogio Calleja who is one of the most prestigious enologist of the country and who has an excellent knowledge of the possibilities of the region, thanks to his long experience there. Under his technical supervision, Cristina Bosch now carries out her work as enologist of Bodegas Naia. Naia has become a standard bearer for the defence of Verdejo and makes wines that are fresh, ample, flavoury and full of character, in accordance with the standard set by the great world wines.
